Frigibax headlines Pokémon GO’s June Community Day, bringing its unique Dragon- and Ice-type power from the Paldea region to a special global event taking place Saturday from 2–5 p.m. local time.
Niantic’s fan-favorite monthly event packs a single session with boosted featured Pokémon spawns, elevated Shiny odds, and bonus perks that make every catch count.
The main draw is an exclusive attack. Players who evolve Frigibax into Arctibax and then into Baxcalibur during the event, or up to four hours after it ends, will get a Baxcalibur that knows Glaive Rush. The Dragon-type charged attack is making its Pokémon GO debut, according to Niantic. Outlets covering the event list the move at 105 power in gyms and raids and 90 power in Trainer Battles.
Event bonuses
Niantic’s bonuses for the event include:
- 3x Stardust for catching Pokémon
- 2x Candy for catching Pokémon
- 2x chance at Candy XL for trainers at level 31 and above
- Incense activated during the event lasts three hours
- Lure Modules activated during the event last three hours
- An extra Special Trade, with trades costing 50 percent less Stardust
Some bonuses run past the main window. Frigibax will keep appearing at PokéStops with active Lure Modules until 9 p.m. local time, and those encounters can still be Shiny.
Shiny Frigibax odds

Niantic says players have an increased chance of finding a Shiny Frigibax during the event but does not publish exact rates. Outlets including Pokémon GO Hub estimate the odds at about 1 in 20 for the three-hour window. Lucky players may also find Frigibax with a special in-game background.
Paid research ticket
An optional Special Research story is available for $1.99, or the local equivalent, and is not required to join the free event. Players can buy the ticket as a gift for friends they have reached Great Friends status with or higher.
A free, event-themed Field Research line is also available, with rewards that include Stardust, Ultra Balls and more Frigibax encounters.
What it means for players
Baxcalibur has been a popular Dragon- and Ice-type attacker in raids and Trainer Battles since its Paldean debut, and Glaive Rush gives it a hard-hitting Dragon-type charged move it could not learn before. For players who want a strong Dragon attacker, the event is the cheapest way to add one.
The catch is the clock. The exclusive move only sticks if the final evolution happens inside the event window or the four-hour grace period, and evolving the full line costs candy. Players who already hold strong Dragon-types such as Rayquaza or Dragonite may find the upgrade useful rather than essential.
Questions players are asking
Can you still get Glaive Rush after the event?
Yes, but only if you evolve Arctibax into Baxcalibur by about 9 p.m. local time. After that, the exclusive move is no longer guaranteed.
What weather boosts Frigibax?
Windy and Snow weather, which raise the level of Frigibax players can catch in the wild.
Is the paid ticket worth it?
It is optional. The ticket adds guaranteed special-background encounters and extra rewards, but the headline bonuses and the exclusive move are free.
What’s next
The event continues a recent run of Dragon-types anchoring Pokémon GO’s June Community Days. Looking ahead, the August Community Day on Aug. 16 will feature Nickit, which players chose in a 24-hour fan vote held in late May on the official Pokémon GO YouTube channel.
